Web Sites I Have Worked On
The following isĀ a list of websites that I have worked on. I have worked on them to varying degrees. In some cases I built them from the ground up, in other cases I simply maintained the sites.
Beauty School.com – I have worked on this website from time to time during my duties at PlattForm Advertising. Everything from the search system, to lead forms, lead listings, lead processing, and many more things. This website is the collective work of at least three different developers and at least two designers. The purpose of this website is to help potential students find beauty schools to help them start their careers. This website is built on the CodeIgniter PHP Framework.
Beauty Schools Directory.com – This is another website that I have worked on while at PlattForm Advertising. I have worked on the search system including setting up a complex zip search as well as lead forms and processing. I have also done minor maintenance on this website and improved administrative tool. This system is entirely in custom PHP.
California College Search.com – This is another website that I have worked on while at PlattForm Advertising. I maintained it for awhile and also made minor improvements to it.
Career College Central.com – This is another website that I have worked on while at PlattForm Advertising. This website was one of the first projects I worked on at PlattForm. When I came on board this website was originally built in multiple layers of WordPress installs. Someone had already started the rebuild in Drupal 5, I completed the rebuild myself. That included the news rotator and about 90% of the website. It was my first experience with Drupal.
Career Explorer.net – This is another website that I have worked on while at PlattForm Advertising. I have only done minor maintenance work on this. This site is written in Classic ASP.
Collectorholics.com – I built this website from the ground up in the Open Cart CMS and utilized WordPress for the blog. This is a website for my father’s business. He sells toys, antiques, collectibles, and many more items. This is one of the websites that I have been experimenting with SEO, Social Marketing, and will soon be starting a backlink building campaign.
Find A Trucking Job.com – This is another website that I have worked on while at PlattForm Advertising. I have done only minor work on this site including creating the new by state pages and index. It is built in Drupal 6.
Idea 4 Invention.com – This is another website that I have worked on while at PlattForm Advertising. I rebuilt this site from the ground up. A designer provided the new, greatly simplified template and I built the rest out from scratch in Drupal 6. I also built a Drupal module for this that generates the multi-step form with a simple array and function call.
Loft Nine Records.com – I built this website to help out my friend Scott Smith. It utilizes a regular template purchased on ThemeForest.net that I modified into a WordPress template. I added some social networking tools and linked to his tour schedule feed. I also made small modifications to the pictures on this website.
Massage Register.com – This is another website that I have worked on while at PlattForm Advertising. I have done minor improvements to the school listing algorithm and added extra reporting to this website. I also created the JavaScript that you will find on some webpages that injects a read more link back to the page when you copy text from it. I reverse-engineered the JavaScript from something found that was found on a news website. This is built on Drupal 6.
Pjerky.com – This is my personal blog that I use to rant, rave, and talk about important issues in the world. This is built on WordPress.
PlattForm Ad.com – This is another website that I have worked on while at PlattForm Advertising. I have only done very minor modifications on this website over a year ago.
Retro Glass Tools.com – I built this website from the ground up in the Magento e-commerce CMS. The logo was created by my sister, Sara Thurmond, along with a number of the product images. This was about two months of work to get it setup and tested.
Technical Schools Guide.com – This is another website that I have worked on while at PlattForm Advertising. This is the primary website that I work on currently. It is built in custom PHP. I have recently added AJAX forms to the co-registration listings. I have done a number of other things including initially building the aptitude testing system that is used on the site as well as massive improvements to the lead processing system. I also created a custom page caching class, which is currently being used, that I wrote from the ground up. I am currently working on IP location integration as well as many other improvements to the website.
TTI Ship Direct.com – This is a custom PHP application which I helped maintain and worked on rebuilding the website in the CakePHP framework for about 5 months. I had to learn a lot about the trucking industry and how shipments work as well as interface it with a legacy system that was almost 30 years old to check trucking rates and availability.
US College Search.org – This is another website that I have worked on while at PlattForm Advertising. This site was originally built in custom PHP, but has since been rebuilt in the CodeIgniter PHP framework. I have worked on every aspect of this website.
Recently I have started working for VML and primarily focusing on Drupal projects. My first project is a website for a large corporation which I cannot give details about until the site and the project it represents has gone public. I have since been brought in to work on a few other websites including work for an internal site for Y&R and a public facing website being developed for the Department of Defense. I will give links and screenshots of these once they are at a stage where I am allowed to. The Y&R project is internal entirely and merely used for demonstrations. My work on it is specifically to fix or workaround a bug found with displaying private Scribd documents in Internet Explorer. Due to this project I was able to identify and report a bug in Scribd’s flash player, which was later confirmed by their engineering team and is currently being addressed.
